WHO WE ARE

Antonio "Tony" Calcado is the former Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Calcado was responsible for the stewardship of all the university’s physical assets across the State of New Jersey, totaling over 30 million square feet and valued in excess of $40 billion. His span of authority encompassed public safety, emergency and crisis management, housing and facilities operations, capital planning and construction, transportation, parking, retail, and auxiliary operations with a total operating budget exceeding $650 million. Calcado was also responsible for economic development; he is a leader in negotiating and structuring complex private-public partnerships, generating over $1.4 billion in returned equity through entrepreneurial partnerships with the development community and local, state, and federal authorities.
